Best hour long episode of The Office by far. I must get myself to a beet farm B&B sometime soon.
Hey, did anyone catch what that line was from Michael to Jan when they were sitting on the train and she said "Where's this train taking us?" and he said something like... they've unhitched it? Or...?
6 - I saw. While admitting that I can turn violently against a show, that read like someone eager to be out in front on the hate patrol. I haven't watched tonight's yet, perfering to savor the finale of Mad Men first, but the second episode of the year was sheer brilliance, and the first and third had plenty of good moments. To say the show has gone south is a big overstatement.
Further, the writer didn't seem to realize that the hour-long episodes are really two half-hours running side-by-side. Each half hour had a beginning, middle and end.
I didn't care for the second half of last night's Office much. The first half hour at Schrute's Farm was pretty great, and Mose's cameos are a treat. Plus the Powerpoint stuff and the second job...all typically good Office excellence. But the second half wasn't really funny at all. Just depressing. I hate it when comedies make me feel bad.
7. That was probably a good idea. I remember liking The Office last night, but nothing else, because my brain was completely floored by the amazingness that was Mad Men. The only off-note was Peggy having a baby, did not care for that at all. I love that Betty wasn't a complete Feminine Mystique cliche, but my favorite thing last night was probably that voice over actress ready her line and subtly, but assuredly losing little bits of confidence in her voice with every interruption by Peggy, just amazing.
Do you remember some months back when I started a discussion of "who" vs "whom"? I thought it was hilarious to see the same discussion on "The Office" last night.
btw, which was the proper usage for Michael's statement last night?
12--Andy going into the alley to get the cat for Angela I thought was great. Then Angela carrying the cat around the office and giving Andy permission to ask her out, that was cool.
I also like the pairing of Darryl with Kelly. Darryl knows exactly how to talk to Kelly.
Michael getting the 2nd job because he spent too much money on a professional bass fishing course, the "core" machine...etc.
There was plenty of good stuff last nite.
I think this season is much better than the last one. Less Jim/Pam "drama"... More Laughter..=good.
I think the only downside to this season is no Rashida Jones, and what they've done to Ryan's character. Ryan as the temp is funny. Ryan as the boss no one buys.
Personally, I thought last night was one of the top five least funny Office episodes ever. There were some good tender moments, but the laughs were few and far between. I'm glad last night was the last hour-long episode because I feel like the writers (and the format) aren't capable of creating a top-notch product for that long.
30 Rock, on the other hand, was quite funny last night.
Kudos to all responsible.
I think she would like it since I believe the star of "Mad Men" is another Mound City native.

Perhaps they think John Wooden is writing the show.
Perhaps the writers strike will be over by then.
5 - It was something about the engine already having left.
