I am glad it is on the list. When Jim circled the desk with police tape in the deleted scenes of Conflict resolution...this is easily my favorite. I have watched it many times and laughed at Dwight being so worried to break the official police line to answer the phone.
I was going to set up a computer at work so that all the Google searches would return in German, but I realized that would just tick someone off way too much and I didn't want to deal with it.
I once made the mistake of scheduling a vacation such that my first day back at work was April 1. My co-workers had set up a semi-elaborate prank to convince me that a new boss had been hired - a person whose awful AND pretentious resume we had eviscerated just before I left - and was looking for me. They had me going for two and one-half hours or so.
I know that it was simple, but the conditioning Dwight to want an Altoid every time the computer dinged is definitely my favorite. Simply, because its simplicity and believability.
6 ... trying to find the guy, leaving a new, increasingly impatient, note in my office for my every return. Secretary made a fake organization chart with his name on it, they set up what looked like his temporary work area with some new employee material and an inch of coffee there - in one of my mugs!
My two favorites (future fax and vending machine) were already mentioned, other favorites are the desk in the bathroom just for when Dwright sits down to answer the phone and when Jim starts to act out for Dwight's recording and then everyone joins in with Andy as the topper. The practical jokes are basically always in the cold open now, which is nice. It gets me fired up for the rest of the episode.
Ooh: "Told Dwight that their waitress suffered from narcolepsy and couldn't remember how to butcher a goose. Dwight then graphically explained the procedure, to her shock." That was a really good one, too. Might have to put that at the top of the list.
I like the nickels in the phone prank the best, but it is only a description of it happening.
In terms of actual pranks shown, it is hard to beat the jell-o standby, but I like the more elaborate ones, such as convincing Dwight he was going on a CIA mission (especially when Dwight throws his cell phone off the roof), and getting Dwight to dye his hair and climb into a box...

"Bears, beets, Battlestar Galactica."
Followed later by Dwight impersonating Jim and getting positive comments from Pam and Karen.
"You look nice today, Dwight."
"No I don't! I look like an idiot!"
Just saw the deleted scene from this week. Let me just say, I will never be your vichyssoise.
"oooh, a pencil holder. I love these"
