I've already enjoyed tonight's Lost, so for once I'm ahead of the curve. Feel free to chat about that or anything else ...

Here's Brian Lowry's preview at Variety. (By the way, in case you didn't know Variety has knocked down its pay wall.)

For those Zeljko Ivanek fans out there, when you watch Lost, tell me if he looks gaunt to you.

This thread just sat here too long without a comment. Tonight gives us Mexico vs. USA, USC vs. UCLA, American Idol, Lost, and Friday Night Lights.

Good Stuff.

Liked the episode tonight. Personally I am kind of rooting for the death of all the Others.

Yes he did look gaunt, but it seems like he usually does when I have seen him on Law and Order

"Lost" doesn't air for another hour out here, and I'm debating whether I really want to get sucked in for three (or is it four?) months of Wednesdays.

Zeljko Ivanek has always looked gaunt to me.

Robin Weigert is the second "Deadwood" alum to appear this year. She looks like she might not last longer than Paula Maclomson did.

Didn't watch Lost, but Ivanek looked gaunt(er) to me when he appeared on Bones last season.

4 - I saw that too. Plus, the guy guarding the prisoner was on "It's Always Sunny in Philidelphia" (which is hilarious). I guess "Lost" is the big time and they finally got called up to the show.

So Jon has thrown down the gaunter.

Enjoyed Lost (watched it near-live, and paid for it in terms of not enough sleep)...

I was mystified by Juliet's motivations and ethics. How does she go from the near-mouse who is supressed by her ex-husband to a manipulative game-player willing to order people's deaths and kill people herself?

This goes to my theory that the Others are all, basically, monsters.

9 - Last nights episode strongly hinted that the Others are just normal people who have been on the Island waaaay too long. Is it weird that I found flashback simpering-weak Juliette hotter than strong independent Juliette? I mean, I don't think I like weak women... Maybe I just liked her hair better in the flashback.

10 "normal people who have been on the island waaaaay too long": I can't say I agree, except, perhaps, for Juliet. Well, let's put it more simply: Ben is clearly a monster, rather than a normal person. He displays a psychotic need to control everything and everyone. There's also menace behind the eyes of Ethan (whom we know is a killer), and Pickett was all too willing to kill Sawyer with misplaced provocation (Sun shooting his girlfriend when Sun was cornered by her on the boat).

And there is a strong implication that Juliet was recruited (or strong-armed) into going to the island -- while other Others seem to have the ability to come and go from the island.

Tom is a pawn, I guess. Can you believe he tried to introduce himself to Jack? How is it that these people forget the terror they've inflicted on the crash survivors? "I wouldn't do that, Jack! This is our island, and the only reason you're living here is because we let you."

11 - To be fair, we have no idea what the agenda of the Others is. They could have been great, super-duper wonderful people before they ended up on the island. That seems to be the case with Juliette, who knows about the other Others?

Did anyone else laugh out loud when Juliette's ex got run over?

I thought Elizabeth Mitchell looked much better in her island visage than in her Miami visage.

I hope we see more of Robin Weigert. I really loved her as Calamity Jane.

Jack and Ben are two of the best characters ever created for TV. The actors playing them are doing a phenomenal job.
