Who do you think will win?

Bonus question: What song(s) would you choose for Jordin or Blake to perform tonight?

A: My favorites never really had a chance, but I liked Gina Glockson and Chris Sligh.

B: Blake, hands down.

C: Jordin. I really hope I'm wrong, 'cause I just can't stand her.

D: Jordin: I Will Always Love You, because she'd sing it poorly, and might actually go home.
Blake: Canned Heat, because that would have a chance of being awesome.

I like them both but I'd prefer Jordin win. She has a showcase voice and won't disappoint with whatever she has to sing as champion. Blake's career will be better off if he doesn't win, because people will just focus on his vocal shortcomings rather than the product of his creativity. I'm even more confident Jordin will win than I was that Melida would get eliminted in the round of 3.

I also liked Chris Sligh, but it became apparent that he didn't know how to use his voice. The others I was disappointed to see go were Baily Brown (in the Hollywood round), Nick Pedro, and that weird blues singing girl who seemed mildly retarded but had a distictive style. Oh, and I always had a soft spot for Sanjaya.

As you can tell, I've never watched American Idol.

I promise not to troll any further.

If one were to look up "courage" in the Oxford English Dictionary, one might very well come upon the photo of these two gladiators. They approach the final song in the shadow of the great announcer, deadlocked at two songs on the happy side of par. Soon, one will emerge triumphant. She will drink naught but champagne, while her opponent tastes bitter defeat in this oft cruel contest.

Looks like I wasn't the only person boycotting Idol. It was beaten by Dancing With the Stars last night. Close ratings, but Dancing beat AI in the major markets pretty handily.

Amazing.

11. I believe it, this year, my 9-year old and I watched the least amount of American idol ever. I don't think I watched more than 5 minutes of the top 12 and we used to watch pretty regularly, the people just didn't seem all that compelling this year.

As for Veronica Mars, a nice, solid ending to the show, after a nice, solid season. I don't remember a season of television that I enjoyed more than the first season of that show, so the next two were mild disappointments compared to that, but it was still one of the best shows out there.

Re: Heroes

I almost gave up on the show when they did their Fall premiere. It seemed like the next couple of episodes in the Winter barely kept me interested, and then things got really good, only to have them drop down to mediocrity. Jon, I am assuming that Nathan sacrificed his own life rather than flying away, but I have to wonder, couldn't Peter just fly away himself...away from the city?

14 - It was hard to miss, but it's funny, I guess, that it didn't affect me that much.

Sorry, I meant to say none of the characters on the show noticed. You know, "hey where did that really evil guy go to that Hiro sliced through with a sword?"

The Times gave us this. About American Idol. Really.

Human history is studded by moments, turning points, when but for a nail the empire might have been saved; a bit more exertion on one side, a glance the wrong way on the other and nations crumble. Tonight at the Kodak theater was one of those moments. In all of competitive singing, no night had held more uncertainty than this one. And the eyes of a nation, weary from a season of twists and turns beyond our experience, turned to the Kodak stage in search of a sign.

Last night's series finale of "Veronica Mars" was the best episode of the season and one of the best episodes of the show period. The ending was appropriately dark for a film noir and while I would pledge to never watch a CBS serial (or the CW in general) if I could have another season, at least it went out in style.

Ah "Veronica" we hardly knew thee. K.B. is the unseen narrator on the new "The OC in NYC" show, but I bet she will join the on-camera cast by the middle of the first season.

ABC has many fail-safes built in. You can always watch online (unless your name is Jon Weisman) or buy the show from iTunes (with the same proviso as above.)

20 - Which is how there finally came to be a Grey's Anatomy episode that I missed!

Sometime this month, I will watch the finale - without having seen what came right before.

I have the final three "Veronica Mars" saved for savoring. I have selected the "Keep Until I Delete or I Will Throw You Through a Wall" function on my TiVo.

Yea, but I convinced my friend it would be okay to go to the Dodger game tonight, since we can watch it at my house afterwards. I don't know how he will feel about waiting a day to see it online, especially if his wife can't even wait for us...she is choosing to watch it "live"

I have never watched an episode of "Lost" live. But I usually watch it the same day, except when I went to Japan for a week. Then I watched it as soon as I got home in a jet-lagged fog. Poor Mr. Eko....

I watched the episode where Locke went on his drug trip and mystical journey with Boone on my brother's computer in Michigan that could barely run the video.

Poor Locke. Always taken in.

Whenever Locke gets a head of steam about something, that spells trouble.

So they have two hours of original programming left in the season on "Lost." Question to the gallery: Will there be more or fewer questions outstanding at the end of the show tonight?
2007-05-23 17:34:40
27.   the OZ
26 Probably the same number of questions.

They've introduced a few new characters this season, so I expect that some old ones will have to die. Ben would be my first guess.

31 - This was a heck of a finale, IMO. If you start with the premise that finales have to be plot driven, than this was borderline perfect. Absolutely jam packed with excellent plot and the ending both answers a huge number of questions and raises twice as many. This isn't an episode to make you love the show, but if you are already invested then it is almost enough to keep you interested over the next 8 months without a new episode.
