Was Coach Taylor reading the headlines about the Creighton coach who took the Arkansas job and then untook it a day later?

I feel like that kind of thing happens almost every year in college basketball.

Anyway, I'll be on the edge of my Friday Night Lights seat as usual, and hopefully there for Lost as well.

Update: Ugly Betty, Scrubs, The Office and FNL won Peabody awards today.

Update 2: Another gracefully splendid FNL, with the Eric-Tami and Tyra-Landry exchanges the highlights, though the plots with Jason, Smash, Tim and Julie-Matt were not far behind. Can't believe the season finale is next week. I will truly miss this show being on the air.

Update 3: Lost: A strong episode, even with the almost gratuitous girl-girl fight between Juliet and Kate. I still love the impact of John's defection to the Others.

One thing that occurs to me is that we haven't really seen the emotional depths of Kate's anger from her pre-island life manifest themselves on the island. She's gotten angry, but in reaction to events, not as much to her pre-existing pain. Whereas, for example, Sawyer's pre-island life inhabits his every move, which is what made his brief moment of happiness - and then the dashing of it as Sun looked at him - rewarding.

Kate + Juliet + Handcuffs + Rain = Splendid TV

I'd give the epidode a 9.
Only thing I didnt find compelling is the Smoke Monster. I really dont think it has a place on the show (since the show's built on character development--not science fiction). I suppose it can be used as an easy way to kill off characters, but it just doesnt really interest me that much.

Juliet no doubt is a spy. Sayid's right. It'll be entertaining TV how she ends up turning the camp against each other.

The Hurley/Sawyer stuff was fantastic, even though I (like most of you, I'm sure) figured out what he was doing fairly quickly. Hurley's my guy, Dude.

And Sun be staring daggers at Sawyer.

The Smoke Monster is pretty important to whatever the central mystery of the island is, and answering that mystery is the destination that the show is constantly moving towards. The character stuff is scenery along the way, and at best tells us why these particular people, karmically, ended up on the island.

I must admit that the location scouts for Lost came up with a backdrop for Iowa in the beginning that looked almost unlike anywhere in Iowa.

4 Maybe the production crew for Lost are, say, trapped on an Island in the Pacific...

Oahu, actually.
